Postby R3V3NG3 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 8:46 am

Hi Guys'n'Gals,

Im busy building an ultimate class mini. I have no idea what I am doing and Im going ahead on what I "think" could work.

Im gonna run 4x 15"s. Can I ask if you peeps have some Ultimate and Ultimate Mini pics to post it or mail it to me. So I can try and get a better understanding of where to go, and how

All pics, comment and advise will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
Rog!

Hi Neeresh,

Im gonna go SPL. I have managed to fit the 4x 15" with a 10" port smack in the middle. Im building the box outside, then I fit it inside, bolt it down and complete the wall.

Neeresh wrote:well you do know that your port area works on the enclosure volume right? So that alone should tell you that if you building an enclosure to house 4x15s you cant use 1x 10 inch port! use it, dont use it, up to u!

I did not know that. What do you suggest? As I said, I have NO idea "how to"

Rather go 2x 15" with a slotted port? Or with a 12" port and 3x 15" ??
I have 10" and 12" pipe...

Thanks,
Rog!

Howzit,

thanks for the vote of confidence  I did a few measurements last night. I will comfortably fit 4x NSB125s with my 4V cell. That is IF I go ahead with my current design. Maybe some1 can show me a better way to do it, then I will revise my battery option.

Try to get a hold of Rups and Ashley and V.i.P
They gave me some good ideas on what to do....
I will be using 4 x 12" woofers and 6" ports.....or slotted ports if i can manage to tune it properly...as for the batteries, i dont know what i am going to use yet, thinking about it cause my budget is not that open..lol

Laminate wood together to make the face, and the thickness of the face will be the port lenght!
Eg, 5x20mm superwood boards laminated will be 100mm, so the port lenght is 100 mm! R U with me? try and make the box as big as u can, and same story with the port! BTW, how much power you going to plug into the car???

I wanna start with 2x SS 15K amps. AKA SuRf BoArDs

You need to balance your bank of batteries!

I wont argue with the guys, like urself, who has the know-how. But why would I dump the 4V cell? Rather use 2x 2V cells or none at all?

Thanks,
Rog!
