Good luck for friday man.

As for your tweeter problem.

Try turning up the gains on the amp and using less volume on the deck. also if your Hi-Lo is adjustable then turnit up so it plays louder.

Most factory HU decrease midbass and subbass as volume is increased. This makes tweeters sound harsh, so by turning your gains up on the map or Hi-Lo will make your system go loud before the HU protects itself from the bass....sometimes you can turn this feature off on the deck.

thanks Kevin, that sounds like a plan.

I've seen a few posts on the DIYMA forum about the harshness of the polyglass tweet. Nice that I see this now. Anyways, I prolly still would have bought them because everything else is awesome and fits the car so well.

I was even thinking of using the DLS tweet on the focal passive - not sure if this would work. The Focal tweeter is so dynamic, it actually sounds really nice at normal volume. My other plan is attenuating the tweeter after the passive by using an L pad - like in my other post. I have access to the components and have a few technicians at work that can help me build it. This would be nice because I would be able to turn the tweeter volume up and down independantly with a pot.

I'll give them a chance. I've been trying to get everything finished before the baby comes so I've been rushing a bit. I'm going to chill for a while now and just see how things go.

Wow, I've let this thread get stale - apologies.

OK, the install has had a few twists and turns. More than I would have liked, but it's getting closer to where I want it to be.

Here's an update on the equipment that will be used:

Hertz ES250 sub
Focal Polyglass 165VR3 3 way splits
Audison SRx1
Audison SRx4
Power Acoustik C-3184 3 way active crossover

OEM HU with the SVEN2 LOC (this is english....trust me)

I made a turn past Zakspeed the other day. Nice shop for cables and accessories. I also stopped at B&B - they on my road, got a nice distro block from them.

The install is still a work in progress. I am also toying with the active/passive option. I still have my JL 4ch amp, so fully active might be an option.

I just took a few pics of the boot today. I'll get a few more with the box and amp rack soon.

This is a pic of the crossover

Thanks Oom

Maxxis, I got it from work. We install truck weighing systems so we use this and that other sleeving that you wind arround the cables, u know, the plastic stuff that you sometimes use on you PC cabling.
