1) Get rid off the master and brake booster from taht bakkie and put one in from the VWpolo will need to do some modification but you need to do it.

2) i am not sure if you will be able to put bigger disc on as you will have to modify the brakets for your caliper, but get yourself a set of crossdrilled discs that will fit straigt on, if i am right your disc and hub is one piece, let me know then i will find out if i can get you a set and at what price

what engine are you running in the bakkie?

i need exactly the same thing to be done on my bakkie but space is the issue in my bakkie...

as u can see my ITBs sit up close & personal with the brake booster so maybe another shorter booster is my option BUT WHAT ONE TO GET :?: :?:
Someone told me that the skyline disc brake setup would be an option...

up front, you could fit the nissan sentra discs, but to do that same thing in the rear is one major problem as you have a diff and a sentra is front driven, you have drums at the back and a sentra has discs.

I dont know how far this is true, but i heard that most guys go for the BMW disc setup. like the older box shape...shadowline shape. the transformation is just harder and time consuming. but if done right, it should be worth it.

so glad i sold my 1400 as the brakes were dodgy at times....aspecially if you slam on them and the rear locks up.......but.....i still miss the fun its given me.......Good luck with the brakes....!!!!!!!!

Ok, now hear is what i heard through the grapevine. People recon that it is not wise to fit disc brakes on the rear of a 1400 for the sole reason (same as citi golf) that under braking the rear will get very light i.e. dangerous. Unless you plan to go sideways alot. Now if it is true I would not know, don't have the guts or the replacement cash to do it on my golf. On the anglia I had it had drums in the rear with the 13b in front. only did the front brakes and never had a problem coming to a stop from serious speeds.

Jip, thats the story I know Chris... "They" recon drums at the back should stay. I only plan to do the front on my Champ. Only looking for slightly larger disc's..... Some time ago however, I swopped the drums on a very hot VW golf 2 for discs. never went sideways and I drove it hard.... I did the whole axle though, coplete with stabeliser and control valve....

That might be the reason why it never got light. with the bakkie I would agree with only doing the front brakes. Good luck with the mod.
